South University - West Palm Beach:"The dynamics of southeast coastal Florida
make earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
(BSN) degree a worthy goal. As the region
experiences a gain in population each year
the vacancy rate for nurses also continues
to increase. Meanwhile, the National Advisory
Council on Nurse Education and Practice and
the American Nurses Association recommends
that two-thirds of the basic nurse workforce
be prepared with a bachelor's degree or higher
by the year 2010 to meet the increasingly
complex conditions of today's patient care
needs."

Allied Health Division:"LPN/LPTN to RN Nursing Transition Program:

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and/or Licensed
Psychiatric Technician Nurses (LPTN) who

Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN)."
Southeast Community College / Nursing Program
(LPN, AAS):"The Academic/Career Mobility Program in Nursing
provides a seamless educational option in
nursing with two exit points allowing students
to choose a career as an LPN or RN. Students
who successfully complete the first year
will receive a diploma qualifying them to
apply for licensure as a practical nurse
(NCLEX-PN). Following successful completion
of the second year, students will receive
the Associate in Applied Science Degree in
Nursing qualifying them to apply for licensure
as a registered nurse (NCLEX-RN)."
Southeast Community College / Nursing Program
(LPN, ADN):"The Associate Degree Nursing program is approved
by the Nebraska State Board of Nursing and
accredited by the National League for Nursing
Accrediting Commission. Graduates are eligible

an associate's degree or diploma in nursing,
to gain advanced placement in the BSN major.
Registered nurses are required to take only
24 hours of nursing course work to complete
their BSN. Credits for previous general educational
work are determined on an individual basis
and/or through articulation agreements with
the 12 junior colleges that serve Southeast
Missouri State University."
Southeastern Illinois College / Department
of Nursing:"Associate Degree Nursing education
is a part of higher education and is established
on generally accepted standards of community
college education. The Associate Degree Nursing
Program at Southeastern Illinois College
originated as a member of the Southern Illinois
Collegiate Common Market (SICCM) in 1975.
SICCM was comprised of Southeastern Illinois
College, John A. Logan College, Shawnee College,
Rend Lake College and the School of Technical
Careers at Southern Illinois University.

Program of each of these campuses established
their own identity on their respective community

Southeastern Louisiana University /College
of Nursing:"SLU College of Nursing and Health Sciences,
School of Nursing prepares professional nurses
as caregivers and managers who provide leadership
to enhance the health of a diverse community-by
providing nursing education which incorporates
Nursing's professional standards of care
and professional performance; by promoting
research based nursing; by advocating an
improved health care delivery system to meet
the needs of a diverse community; and by
promoting the advancement of a profession."
Southeastern North Carolina Nursing Consortium
/ Nursing Department (BSN):"The Department of Nursing builds on a rich
heritage that began with the establishing
of the Southeastern North Carolina Nursing
Consortium in 1992, a joint RN-BSN completion
program between UNCP and Fayetteville State
University. The Consortium was the first
BSN program in North Carolina to receive
Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
(CCNE) accreditation for 10 years with no
recommendations. With the separation of the
Consortium August 1, 2004, the UNCP RN-BSN
nursing program transitioned to a Department
of Nursing within the University structure.
The Department of Nursing is committed to
continued national, specialized nursing accreditation
that notes we are offering a program of quality,
professional nursing education. The University
of North Carolina at Pembroke Department
of Nursing is accredited by the Commission
on Collegiate Nursing Education."
